Many thanks to all who came out from HHUMC to raise money for Champion the Cure this year. Looks like everyone had a great time while helping raise money to fight cancer!
Our youth from Sunday School planted the vegetable garden here at church on May 29th, as part of HHUMC's Peace with Justice Sunday. The produce that grows here will go to support the Hampden Neighborhood Food Cupboard.
What a great Children's Sunday we had here at HHUMC today! The children did a fantastic job today running the entire church service! From giving the sermon and leading prayer, to being greeters, ushers, scripture readers, and choir members, they all worked hard today. The children received participation certificates for Sunday School and flowers to take home and plant. Our many Sunday School teachers also received flowers and cards for their hard work. Thanks so much to Jessie Davis, our Christian Ed Director, for coordinating this event!
We had a wonderful and busy Easter celebration this morning at HHUMC! With special music, a great sermon, and an Easter egg hunt for the kids, all followed by snacks and fantastic fellowship...there was something here for everyone. Christ is risen indeed!
HHUMC hosted a music and art fundraiser meal in cooperation with RBMS music students and Hampden Academy art students. Money raised was given to the Hampden Neighborhood Food Cupboard. Everyone enjoyed music while they dined and was able to take home a beautiful hand crafted plate or bowl as a reminder of those whose plates are empty.
This year, February 14th fell on a Sunday. Sunday School celebrated God's love with a Valentine's Day party. The kids began by creating Valentines for God using quotes from the Bible. Next, they cut, baked, decorated, and ate some cute heart sugar cookies. Kalina ended the celebration by having the kids play "Jesus Loves Me" on Boomwhackers (plastic pipes). So much fun!
January, 24th 2016 - The Nurture Committee had a great time organizing our All Church Birthday Celebration. What a fun time we had mingling with new faces and sharing God's love with each other.
Using our hands and feet to serve others in our community: We packed and delivered care packages for Eastern Maine Community College students for their finals week.
